Crossroads Christian Fellowship A.R. is a community of followers of Jesus Christ; a people of faith that exists because of God's grace. We are an inter-denominational church seeking to fellowship, worship and serve God with all who seek or call on the name of Jesus as Lord and Savior.

In short, we believe the following principles of the Christian faith for followers of Jesus Christ:
  • The inerrancy (truthfulness without error) and infallibility (trustworthiness never failing) of Scripture
  • The doctrine of the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
  • The natural sin-nature of man, and subsequent broken intended intimate relationship with God due to man's sin
  • The deity and humanity of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God
  • The virgin birth of Jesus
  • The atoning sacrifice of Jesus, having lived a sinless life, that all who would believe and trust in Him will be saved.
  • The bodily resurrection of Jesus the Christ to the right-hand of the Father
  • The imminent second coming of Christ
  • Salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone
  • The resurrection of the dead, both the saved and the lost
  • The existence of Heaven and Hell
  • Life everlasting (eternal life)
  • The ministry of the Holy Spirit to convict the world of its wickedness and each person of their need for a Savior
  • Baptism and the Lord's Supper as ordinances instituted by Christ to be observed only by followers of Christ who are not living in sin
  • That God's design for sexual intimacy is to be within the context of marriage between one man and one woman, and that the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with God's Word
  • By accepting God's grace, we are to extend it to others in love, forgiveness, and desire for their salvation and growth in Christ

The following are the detail to the above abbreviated Statements, including Scriptural references:

By faith we believe, not by human understanding.

By faith, we believe that the Bible in its original text is the inerrant (without error) and infallible (absolutely trustworthy) Word of God, inspired (God-breathed) in the writings of men in their native languages and cultures, and as such is God's perfect self-revelation to humanity. We recognize the Bible as God's revealed Word to each individual personally and to His church as a body. We believe further that the Bible is the ultimate authority over the traditions of men for decisions about life and faith, that it contains all we need to know about God and His creation and about life as a follower of Jesus, and that it is as relevant and applicable today as it was in the day it was written. As followers of Jesus, our supreme desire, by the grace of God, is to know Jesus more and to become more like Him so that we can live with Him, glorify Him, and enjoy Him by His Spirit living within us, in both this life and the next, in a deep, real, intense, and intimate spiritual relationship.

Psalm 19:7-9John 17:17Acts 18:28Romans 15:41 Corinthians 2:13-142 Corinthians 3:14-171 Thessalonians 2:131 Timothy 4:132 Timothy 3:16Hebrews 4:12

By faith, we believe that there is one living and true God, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and that He has an immeasurable love for people in that humans were created to be in a good, continual, vital and loving spiritual relationship with Him. We believe this has been, and continues to be, God's intention for humanity.

Exodus 34:6-7Deuteronomy 6:4Psalm 16:11Psalm 89:14Psalm 90:2Isaiah 43:7Isaiah 44:6Isaiah 45:5-7Jeremiah 10:10Matthew 28:19John 1:11 Corinthians 8:4-61 Corinthians 8:4-62 Corinthians 13:14Colossians 1:15-161 Timothy 1:17Hebrews 1:3Revelation 4:8 & 11

By faith, we believe that the disobedience of God's command by Adam, the first man, brought disruption into the God-human relationship leaving a brokenness and spiritual lifelessness and separation from God that no human act can reconcile. We further believe that this disobedience (what the Bible calls sin) is an inherited natural trait of all descended mankind since Adam, and that God desires to restore that relationship with us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Genesis 1:27-30Genesis 2:7-9Genesis 2:15-17Genesis 3John 3:16Romans 3:9-18Romans 3:23Romans 5:10-13Romans 5:18-19Romans 6:22-23Romans 8:1-41 Corinthians 10:311 Corinthians 15:21-222 Corinthians 4:4-62 Corinthians 5:18-211 Timothy 2:1-61 Peter 1:161 John 3:4-6

By faith, we believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, who came and physically walked on earth as both fully human and fully God. As such, we believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His substitutionary and atoning death on the cross on our behalf for our sins through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father in Heaven, and in His promised and imminent personal return in power and glory to reign over all His creation and to judge both the living and the dead.

Isaiah 7:14Isaiah 9:6Matthew 1:23-25Matthew 25:31-46Matthew 28:6Luke 1:26-35John 10:15Acts 1:9-11Romans 1:4Romans 8:34Philippians 2:5-8Colossians 2:91 Thessalonians 4:13-18

By faith, we believe that Jesus willingly gave Himself as the perfect, atoning sacrifice to fully restore to wholeness the broken relationship between God and man for all eternity for everyone who would repent, believe, and put their trust in Jesus alone as both Savior and Lord of their lives.

John 1:29John 10:15Romans 3:24-25Romans 4:25Romans 5:8-11Romans 6:5-102 Corinthians 5:14-15Hebrews 7:25-261 Peter 1:18-191 Peter 2:241 Peter 3:181 John 2:1-2

By faith, we believe that God reveals His love for humanity by His undeserved free gift of grace in the forgiveness of sin which would separate us from Him and salvation from the penalty of sin. We believe that God's grace is offered freely to all who will accept it by believing in Christ's perfect atoning sacrifice on the cross, believing in His divinity, believing in His resurrection from the dead, and believing in His ascension into Heaven. We believe that God's grace can neither be earned by human merit nor thwarted by past sins but gained only by faith that leads to surrender of the believer's will to God's will. We believe that God the Father will see the believer sanctified and justified by grace through the righteousness of His Son and restored to a right relationship with Him.

John 1:12John 3:36Romans 3:20Romans 3:23Romans 4:6Romans 6:232 Corinthians 5:21Ephesians 1:7Ephesians 2:1-3Ephesians 2:8-101 Peter 1:18-191 John 1:8-9

By faith, we believe in the resurrection of the dead, both the saved and the lost. We believe, that those who would put their faith in Jesus for their salvation through His atoning death (the saved) will live in unfathomable joy and peace with God in Heaven for all eternity, and death will be defeated forever. We believe that by rejecting God's Son Jesus Christ and His plan of salvation or by unrepentant sin people will fall under God's judgement for sin and risk spiritual death and eternal separation from God in Hell, an eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire.

Matthew 25:32-46John 5:26-29John 6:39-40John 14:6-7John 14:19Romans 3:25Romans 5:8-9Romans 14:9-101 Corinthians 15:201 Corinthians 15:231 Corinthians 15:35-441 Corinthians 15:50-542 Corinthians 4:142 Corinthians 5:14-15Ephesians 1:3-14Ephesians 2:1-10Philippians 3:201 Thessalonians 4:13-18Hebrews 7:25Revelation 20:10Revelation 20:13-15

By faith, we believe in the present ministry and power of the Holy Spirit, which includes convicting the world of its wickedness and each person of their need of a Savior. We further believe that, by His indwelling us as believers, we are molded and shaped to reflect Jesus and enabled to live godly lives, drawing near to God and deepening our spiritual connection with Him through regular Bible reading and study, by praying, by living in community with other believers in fellowship and worship of Him, and by telling the good news of Jesus's salvation message to others, both near and abroad.

Matthew 28:19Matthew 28:19John 3:5-7John 16:8-9John 16:13Acts 1:8Romans 122 Corinthians 3:6Ephesians 1:13-14Ephesians 4:11-12Ephesians 4:15-162 Peter 1:19-211 John 2:201 John 2:27

By faith, we believe the church has been instructed that baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ to be observed only by followers of Christ who have been saved and are not living in sin. We believe and practice the precedent set forth in the Bible of baptism of a believer by immersion in water as an obedient personal and public profession of faith and having become a new creation in Christ, but we will consider receiving into our membership believers who have been baptized by an alternate mode of baptism. We also believe that the Lord's Supper symbolizes the new covenant of grace with the New Testament church, and is open to all followers of Christ as a ceremonial acknowledgment of the acceptance of the covenant of Christ's death on the cross for the propitiation of our sins and remembrance of His promised return. In this ceremonial celebration, we believe that we are to examine ourselves before participating in the Lord's Supper to determine whether our attitudes, lifestyle and relationships with God and others are in right standing before God, and if not, to act to make them right.

Matthew 3:6Matthew 26:26-28Matthew 28:19Mark 1:5Mark 1:10Luke 22:19Acts 2:38-42Acts 8:12Acts 8:36-39Acts 22:16Romans 6:1-111 Corinthians 10:161 Corinthian 11:23-31Colossians 2:11-12

By faith, we believe that the church in submitting to the teaching of Scripture holds to God's design for sexual intimacy to be within the context of marriage between one man and one woman, and that the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with God's Word.

Genesis 2:22-24Matthew 19:4-5Ephesians 5:33Hebrews 13:41 Corinthians 7:21 Timothy 1:8-111 Corinthians 6:9-111 Corinthians 6:17-20Leviticus 18:22Romans 5:8-92 Corinthians 4:14Philippians 3:201 Thessalonians 4:13-18Hebrews 7:25Revelation 20:10Revelation 20:13-15

By faith, we believe that God's grace is the greatest and most distinctive hallmark of all followers of Jesus and that by accepting His grace, we as believers in His Son Jesus Christ, are to extend that same grace to others in love, forgiveness, and desire for their salvation and growth in Christ. We believe that only by the power of the Holy Spirit indwelling us can we express God's love in us to the world around us. When we offer this same grace to each other, it is our testimony of our faith and God's love within us.
